Alzheimer Day Program

The Day Program offers an opportunity for participants to interact with others, while giving caregivers a rest from looking after their loved one.

The program caters to individuals with Alzheimer Disease and other related dementias

Caregivers determine the number of days their loved one will attend each week. Participants arrival and departure times are scheduled by the caregiver and can be anytime within the hours of operation.

Services offered through the Day Program are provided by professionals trained to provide a safe, enjoyable environment which promotes the self esteem of all participants. Team members include: Recreation Specialists, a Social Worker and various levels of Nurses, including a Registered Nurse, Registered Practical Nurses and Personal Care Assistants.

A wide variety of leisure activities are provided throughout the day which are appropriate to all levels of ability. Music, singing, dancing, horticulture, games and special celebrations are few activities offered.

Meals/snacks and refreshments are provided.

Assistance is provided for individuals who require support with meals, medications, mobility, washroom assistance or bathing.

Transportation is available for arrival to the McCormick Home at 9:30 am Mon - Sun, departure at 3:00 pm Mon - Fri and departure at 7pm Sat & Sun. From Mon - Fri, departure is also available at 7 pm for a $5 fee.

Hair care, bathing and foot care may be accessed for an additional cost. Please call us for pricing.
